About the role
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and industrialize new and advanced manufacturing processes, including low-cost automation solutions.
- Lead/support installation, commissioning, debugging, validation, and troubleshooting of automated and special-purpose equipment.
- Develop process specifications, tooling, fixtures, tool charts, work standards, and engineering documentation.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and equipment concepts for new and existing processes.
- Support APQP and new product launches, ensuring process and equipment readiness before SOP and production ramp-up.
- Develop and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, process standards, and other manufacturing documentation.
- Ensure effective application of ISO/TS 16949 / IATF 16949 requirements and Automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plan, during process development, industrialization, validation, and production launch.
- Drive improvements in productivity, cycle time, quality, OEE, capacity, equipment reliability, and manufacturing cost.
- Analyze process and test data, conduct manufacturing trials, and implement sustainable corrective and improvement actions.
- Support robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, instrumentation, vision/measurement systems, and machine automation.
- Prepare equipment specifications, support capital expenditure proposals, and execute equipment development and industrialization projects.
- Work closely with Product Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, suppliers, and global cross-functional teams.
- Promote manufacturing best practices, process standardization, technical knowledge-sharing, and mentor junior engineers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant manufacturing/industrialization experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with automated assembly equipment, special-purpose machines, robotics, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Experience in non-standard equipment design, development, commissioning, or debugging is preferred.
- Experience in tooling, fixture design, equipment installation, process validation, and production ramp-up.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in CAD/3D design software such as Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of PLC systems, industrial instrumentation, sensors, robotics, machine controls, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of LabVIEW or similar data acquisition/test systems is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 / IATF 16949 requirements.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of Automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plan.
- Knowledge of DOE, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
- Good English communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional, supplier, and global teams.
