Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to support Engineering Excellence initiatives, including technical debt reduction, AI-SDLC adoption, developer experience, platform modernization, engineering quality, and tooling efforts. This role helps organize work, maintain visibility, track follow-through, and coordinate across teams while partnering closely with Engineering leaders, Product Delivery, and initiative owners. The ideal candidate has strong project management fundamentals, technical curiosity, and an AI-first mindset. The role supports execution discipline and clear communication without replacing Engineering ownership of technical outcomes or Product Delivery ownership of delivery governance and enterprise metrics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consolidated view of assigned Engineering Excellence initiatives, including owners, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, actions, and status.
• Support Engineering leadership and initiative owners with planning, coordination, meeting preparation, notes, action tracking, and follow-up.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution across technical debt, AI-SDLC, developer experience, quality, modernization, and tooling efforts within assigned scope.
• Identify schedule risks, dependency issues, capacity concerns, and open decisions, and escalate them with clear context and recommended next steps.
• Help connect initiative progress to approved Product Delivery metrics and data sources, using existing reporting practices rather than creating duplicate reporting frameworks.
• Support tooling and vendor-related activities in scope, including requirements gathering, implementation tracking, adoption follow-up, utilization reviews, and renewal preparation.
• Help define completion criteria, document handoffs, and transition completed work to accountable operational owners.
• Use Product Delivery’s established planning, risk, dependency, decision, release, and reporting practices, engaging in the appropriate delivery roles when work enters their area of ownership.
• Use AI tools responsibly to improve coordination efficiency, information quality, documentation, and follow through.

Qualifications

Experience

• Experience managing or coordinating technical projects with defined scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholders.
• Working technical fluency across software delivery, SDLC practices, quality, platform or data engineering, technical debt, or developer experience.
• Solid project management skills, including planning, action tracking, dependency management, risk management, status reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to clarify assumptions, organize technical information, summarize issues, and help teams move toward timely decisions.
• Comfort using metrics and existing reports to monitor progress, identify trends, and support follow-up actions.
• Strong facilitation, written communication, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Comfort working with Jira, Confluence, reporting tools, and AI-enabled productivity workflows.
• Experience as a Technical Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Engineering Operations, Delivery Operations, or similar role.
• Experience supporting software engineering, platform, data, or technology teams in agile or structured project environments.
• Experience coordinating technical debt, developer productivity, engineering quality, platform modernization, tooling, or process improvement initiatives is preferred.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Product Delivery, IT, SRE, Security, Finance, Procurement, or vendor teams is helpful.
• Experience in regulated enterprise software, healthcare, life sciences, data, or platform environments is a plus.

• Assigned Engineering Excellence initiatives have clear owners, milestones, dependencies, actions, decisions, status, and closure criteria.
• Risks, dependency issues, and open decisions are identified early, documented clearly, and escalated with enough context for timely action.
• Initiative progress is tracked using trusted Product Delivery metrics and approved data sources, with follow-up connected to clear next steps.
• Completed work is documented and transitioned to named operational owners without introducing duplicate governance, dashboards, or reporting.
