Cvent is looking for a Team Lead, SEO to join our growing SEO team and drive organic growth across its websites. This role will contribute to SEO strategy across technical SEO, content optimization, site architecture, internal linking, topical authority, organic conversion, and performance reporting.
The role will also support Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) as a secondary responsibility, helping improve Cvent’s visibility, representation, and citations across AI assistants, answer engines, and generative search experiences.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy and Roadmap
- Help define and execute Cvent’s enterprise SEO strategy and roadmap.
- Perform keyword research, search-intent mapping, competitive analysis, opportunity sizing, and forecasting.
- Set standards for SEO briefs, metadata, headings, internal linking, content quality, schema, and optimization QA.
- Partner with content, product marketing, web, development, analytics, and regional teams to improve organic performance.
- Embed SEO into content planning, site launches, migrations, campaigns, and CMS workflows.
Technical and content SEO
- Audit websites for crawlability, indexation, rendering, page experience, accessibility, structured data, and site architecture.
- Improve JavaScript rendering, canonicalization, redirects, XML sitemaps, robots directives, metadata, and internal linking.
- Build topic clusters and optimize landing pages, product pages, comparison pages, glossary pages, FAQs, blogs, and thought leadership.
- Identify content gaps, decay, cannibalization, duplication, and conversion opportunities.
- Work with digital PR and content teams on authority and link-earning initiatives.
Analytics and reporting
- Use Google Search Console, Google / Adobe Analytics, Screaming Frog, Semrush, and related tools to identify opportunities.
- Report on rankings, qualified organic traffic, conversions, assisted conversions, pipeline, and SEO health.
- Test and scale technical, content, internal-linking, and conversion improvements.
- Present actionable recommendations and business impact to leadership.
GEO support
- Support GEO efforts with SEO insights, content analysis, and technical recommendations.
- Provide relevant search, content, entity, and site-structure inputs for GEO initiatives.
- Help evaluate how AI experiences surface Cvent and competitors when requested.
- Contribute to GEO reporting and optimization projects while keeping SEO as the primary focus.
- Required qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in SEO, organic growth, content strategy, or digital marketing.
- Strong expertise in technical SEO, on-page SEO, content optimization, structured data, internal linking, search intent, and site architecture.
- Experience contributing to SEO roadmaps and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with B2B SaaS, enterprise technology, or large-scale content programs.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern CMS environments, and web analytics.
- Familiarity with generative search, AI assistants, answer engines, and LLM citation behavior.
- Strong analytical, communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.
Performance measures
- Organic visibility, rankings, qualified sessions, conversions, assisted conversions, and influenced pipeline.
- Technical SEO health, indexation quality, issue-resolution velocity, content performance, and authority growth.
- Secondary GEO measures: AI visibility, citation share, answer inclusion, and recommendation presence.
