The Opportunity

• We're looking for a Software Engineer with 1–2 years of experience in backend software engineering to join our engineering team.
• This role is suited for an engineer with strong programming fundamentals who is eager to build reliable backend services, APIs, and product features while working closely with experienced engineers. You should have a good understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, and software design principles.
• You will contribute to feature development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and production support while progressively taking ownership of technical components. As part of an AI-first healthcare technology company, you will also work in an environment where data protection, secure engineering practices, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools are important.

What You'll Do

• Write, test, and maintain clean, well-structured code for backend services, APIs, product features, and bug fixes under senior guidance.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain assigned backend services and features.
• Build and work with data models, database queries, logging, error handling, and appropriate security practices.
• Develop and maintain unit tests and local verification suites to ensure code quality, test coverage, and release readiness.
• Debug software issues and contribute to improving the performance, reliability, and quality of assigned components.
• Adhere to data protection, PHI handling protocols, and secure coding standards.
• Contribute to Low-Level Designs and technical solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate peer feedback constructively.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on requirements, API design, technical implementation, and feature delivery.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and communicate technical progress, trade-offs, and blockers proactively.
• Troubleshoot bugs and production issues and support incident resolution when required.
• Use approved AI-assisted development tools for routine coding, boilerplate generation, testing, and documentation while rigorously reviewing and validating outputs.
• Maintain clear documentation for implemented features, services, and technical decisions.
• Continuously develop knowledge of the codebase, engineering practices, and healthcare domain.
• Required Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Python or Go.
• Experience building APIs and backend services.
• Understanding of software design principles, data modelling, and Low-Level Design.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Working knowledge of Git and Linux/Unix environments.
• Understanding of Agile software development practices.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, and basic application security.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and learn from senior engineers and peers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud environments.
• Experience with Docker or containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern software development workflows.
• Exposure to application monitoring, logging, and production support.
• Experience working with distributed systems or microservices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools.
• Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, or other data-intensive technology environments.
