Job Purpose: Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing secure DevOps practices, focusing on automating processes, securing infrastructure, and optimizing workflows within a dynamic and evolving environment. They will will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring the integration of security into every aspect of the DevOps lifecycle to build resilient, secure, and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications and backend services.
• Develop responsive user interfaces using Angular.
• Develop REST APIs and backend services using Node.js/TypeScript or Python.
• Design and implement microservices and reusable software components.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding and architecture standards.

Cloud & Data

• Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with cloud-native services and event-driven architectures.
• Work with technologies such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Develop applications capable of handling high-volume and real-time industrial/telemetry data.
• Work with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.

Industrial IoT & Integration

• Develop solutions for Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 use cases.
• Build integrations with APIs, messaging systems and industrial data platforms.
• Work with event-driven technologies such as MQTT, Pub/Sub or Kafka.
• Support integration with industrial and enterprise systems where required.

IC's scope includes telemetry ingestion, industrial gateways, time-series data management and integration with SCADA, historians and enterprise applications.

DevOps & Production Support

• Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD, application deployment and release management.
• Use Git and follow modern software development practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Ensure application performance, availability, security and reliability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of applications and platform services.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.

Technical Skills – Mandatory

• Angular – strong hands-on experience.
• Either Node.js + TypeScript OR Python – strong hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and Microservices.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Strong SQL and database fundamentals; experience with PostgreSQL preferred.
• Experience with Git and Agile/Scrum development.
• Understanding of software design principles, design patterns and clean coding practices.
• Experience developing and supporting production applications.

Technical Skills – Preferred

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• GCP services such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery and Dataflow.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• MQTT / Kafka / event-driven architecture.
• Time-series databases such as TimescaleDB.
• Experience with Industrial IoT, telemetry or real-time data platforms.
• CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

Work Experience (Range of years)

• 3-7 years of experience in software development.
