Job Summary

RPA and Appian QA Tester

Performs quality assurance testing activities for Appian and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to ensure software quality, business process accuracy, and successful delivery of automation initiatives. Executes functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing, validates automated workflows and business processes, and collaborates with business and technology teams to deliver reliable and scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and analyze business and technical requirements to develop detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts for Appian and RPA solutions.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing activities across Appian applications and automation workflows.
• Validate automated business processes, workflow routing, business rules, and system integrations.
• Develop, document, and maintain test cases, test data, validation procedures, and supporting test artifacts.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution in collaboration with development teams.
• Validate bot execution results, workflow outcomes, exception handling, and automated process behavior.
• Execute SQL queries and perform data validation activities to ensure data integrity across applications and automation processes.
• Support testing of integrations involving Appian, UiPath, APIs, web services, databases, and third-party applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Maintain testing documentation, defect records, and quality artifacts in accordance with established QA standards and processes.
• Skill Requirements
• TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• 4-6 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related testing roles.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), quality assurance methodologies, and testing best practices.
• Hands-on testing of Appian applications, business process management (BPM) platforms, or workflow-based solutions.
• Experience validating Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using UiPath or similar automation platforms.
• Ability to perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
• Proficiency in SQL and data validation techniques.
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, batch integrations, and enterprise application testing.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Jira, Microsoft Test Manager, or similar test management tools.
• Working knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar frameworks is preferred.
• Experience within insurance or other regulated industries is preferred.

• EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Appian, UiPath, ISTQB, or other relevant quality assurance certifications are a plus.
