Senior Full Stack Engineer – AEM

This is a remote position.

Experience Level: 6–8+ Years overall, with 4+ Years on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI-first Senior Full Stack Engineer to own AEM builds end-to-end, frontend to backend, headless to hosted, for clients who expect senior judgement rather than a pair of hands. This role requires daily, demonstrable use of agentic AI tooling as your primary way of working, the ability to set an agent up to succeed on a real codebase, and the ability to lift the AI maturity of the engineers around you.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver every stage of your work AI-first, analysis, design, code, tests, documentation, and release notes, using agentic tooling as the default and your engineering judgement as the quality gate
• Set up and maintain repository context and rules files, reusable prompts and skills, MCP integrations, and sub-agent patterns for the team
• Review AI-generated output with the same rigour as human code; own what you ship regardless of what generated it
• Design and build AEM Sites components, templates, and Sling Models across authoring and delivery tiers
• Configure and extend AEM Assets and Content Hub, including DAM workflows and metadata schemas
• Develop backend services in Java, integrating AEM with downstream CRM and enterprise systems
• Deliver AEM Headless solutions using Content Fragments and GraphQL, structuring content with Schema.org markup for discoverability
• Own delivery performance end-to-end: Dispatcher/CDN caching strategy, page weight, and Core Web Vitals against agreed budgets
• Operate and deploy within AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS), including Cloud Manager pipelines and Dispatcher configuration
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design through build, testing, deployment, and hypercare
• Engage directly with client stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Mentor engineers and contribute to AEM delivery standards, reusable patterns, and AI playbooks

Qualifications and Requirements

• 6–8+ years in full stack software engineering, with at least 4 years dedicated to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• Demonstrable, current, daily use of AI and agentic coding tools across code, tests, documentation, and analysis, with sound judgement on where AI helps and where it must not be trusted
• AEM Sites component and template development across frontend and backend: Sling Models, HTL/Sightly, client libraries, OSGi services, workflow models, JCR content modelling
• AEM Assets and Content Hub, including DAM workflows and metadata governance; AEM Headless via Content Fragments and GraphQL
• Strong core Java (Java 8+), Spring, RESTful API design; integration with CRM platforms (Salesforce or Dynamics) and Adobe Analytics
• React JS or an equivalent framework; component-based design systems with documentation and governance; WCAG 2.1 AA applied consistently
• AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS), including Cloud Manager pipelines, Dispatcher configuration, CDN, DNS, and environment topology
• Test automation with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium; working knowledge of security and penetration testing
• Client-facing consulting or agency experience; excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• At least one current Adobe Certification (e.g. AEM Sites Developer, AEM Developer, or equivalent)
• Nice to have: custom agents/MCP servers/skills you've built for a team, Edge Delivery Services, AEM Forms, Multi Site Manager/localisation, Node.js/microservices, Adobe Experience Platform tools (Target, AJO, CJA), Workfront, or other CMS/Salesforce platforms
