About the role

ExpertCrowd is building a network of finance and revenue operations professionals to support AI training and evaluation projects. Apply your hands-on experience in sales compensation administration to help improve how AI systems calculate commissions, apply plan rules, and resolve the questions that come up every pay period. This work calls for people who have done it themselves, not only overseen or advised on it.

We're looking for sales compensation administrators and analysts from B2B companies who have run commission cycles end to end.

About the Work

Our client builds realistic simulations of enterprise work to train and evaluate AI systems. Each simulation is a task packet with three parts:

  • A request, phrased the way a colleague would actually ask it.
  • A shared drive of files, such as exports, policies, emails, forms, and scans.
  • An answer key.

All material is synthetic. You will never see or provide real customer, employee, or client data.

What You'll Do

Depending on the project, you'll do Review, Creation, or both.

Review

  • Read task packets and flag anything that wouldn't happen in a real sales comp function.
  • Confirm or dispute the answer key, and explain your reasoning.

Creation

  • Write new tasks drawn from your own experience, including the request, the supporting files, and the answer key.
  • Follow the client's template and guidance.

Task topics include

  • Attainment and commission calculations from bookings, splits, and plan rules.
  • Rep dispute resolution against the comp plan and contract terms.
  • Mid-period plan changes and clawbacks.
  • Commission statements and accrual files.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years administering sales compensation at a B2B company.
  • You have personally calculated commissions and resolved rep disputes.
  • Hands-on experience with Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or Varicent.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written explanations of your reasoning.

This role requires direct sales compensation administration experience. Experience in adjacent roles such as FP&A, payroll, or general sales operations, without hands-on commission administration, will not qualify.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with more than one of the platforms listed above.
  • Experience writing comp plan documents, policies, or SOPs, especially for Creation work.
  • Prior experience with AI tools, data annotation, or model evaluation.

Time Commitment

  • Duration: 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Hours: 10 to 30 hours per week.
  • Turnaround: Work arrives in batches of 5 to 10 hours, due within 24 to 48 hours.
