Position Title: Research Scientist Biology - Micro-plot Field Trials

• Reporting to (Title): Group Leader- Micro-plot Field Trials
• Level: E2-E4
• Position Purpose
• Contribute to the discovery and pre-development of innovative solutions in agrochemistry, namely new a.i.s for crop protection adding significant value to the business of PI
• Contribute to the delivery of a sustainable flow of development products on mid-term (>3 years)
• Contribute to the ensuring of IP protection
• Strategic Responsibilities
• Active support of the philosophy, values and strategy of PI Industries
• Efficient contribution to the overall success of PI CREAGRO by driving innovation according to objectives and targets being set by the PI CREAGRO management team
• Fullfilling requirements from business (reflected in research targets), biology (reflected in biological efficacy profile)
• Support of Development functions within the frame of given expertise and resources, for instance reflected in requirement for human and environmental safety and for regulatory affaires
• Identifying proprietary research results and taking appropriate measures to maximize the value of intellectual property for PI CREAGRO (patent applications)
• Contribute to competitor intelligence
• Support GL & Head of Biology with special focus on personnel, target setting, development of strengths, building of knowhow, feedback and coaching
• Operational Responsibilities
• Support establishing a state-of-the-art Field Research Station for microplot trials (skills and capabilities, technical facilities, operations and operational relationships)
• Conducting high quality field trials
• Data collection, documentation, analysing and reporting of all research results obtained within the area of responsibility
• Maintain excellent rapot with local bodies, governament agencies and research orginizations for smooth operation of the field station
• Organizing of all kind of required support from internal (PI) and external sources
• Support of other departments of PI CREAGRO and support of activities in later phases (>1) as required with specific emphasis on biology
• Contribute and adhere to all EHS standards of PI
• Financial Responsibilities
• Contribute to budget proposals
• Contribute to budgetary controls within the area of responsibility
• People Responsibilities
• Ensure smooth working of the department to maintain high morale of the workforce
• Continuously improve processes to ensure quality and efficiency
• Identify development needs of the team and take action to address the same
• Implement initiatives to build desired culture in the biology team
• Drive initiatives to become the employer of choice

Education Qualification

• PhD or MSc in Agriculture(Plant Pathology/ Entomology) from a reputed University / Institute
• Knowledge of specific biological disciplines (e. g. Plant pathology, Entomology, Plant physiology, Agronomy etc.)
• Work Experience
• Post academic industrial research experience (2-5 years) appreciated
• Expert knowledge concerning Phytopathological & Entomological techniques, Agronomy, Field trials is appreciated
• Experience in working in multi-centre, multi-national environment
