About the role

Every hospital visit, test and procedure ends up as a set of codes, and those codes decide how claims are processed and how patient records are read. As a Medical Coding Intern at Crossing Infotech, you will learn how clinical documents are turned into accurate codes that keep providers and insurers on the same page. You will practise on real-style charts, learn the coding guidelines used across the industry and build a skill that is in steady demand in healthcare services.

This is a hands-on, full-time remote internship for people who enjoy detail, reading and getting things exactly right.

What you will do

• Read clinical documents such as discharge summaries, operative notes and physician records
• Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines
• Review charts for completeness, missing details and documentation gaps
• Follow coding rules, payer guidelines and compliance standards
• Maintain daily coding logs and meet accuracy and turnaround targets
• Take part in quality audits and learn from feedback on every coded chart
• Keep patient information strictly confidential and follow data privacy practices
• Share progress in daily check-ins and weekly review sessions

What we are looking for

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT is a plus, not a must, as training will be provided
• Strong attention to detail and a careful, methodical way of working
• Good reading comprehension in English
• Comfort using Excel or Google Sheets and basic computer tools
• Respect for patient privacy and professional ethics
• A stable laptop and reliable internet connection for full-time remote work
• Who can apply
• Students or recent graduates from life sciences, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Pharm.D, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, nursing, microbiology, biotechnology and other allied health streams
• Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a medical coding course are welcome
• Anyone available to work full-time for the internship duration
