Key responsibilities

• Review assigned healthcare documentation and identify relevant clinical information.
• Apply medical terminology knowledge to understand diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Practice assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM codes under defined guidelines and supervision.
• Work with CPT coding concepts for applicable procedure and service documentation.
• Review coding assignments for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify missing, unclear, or inconsistent information in documentation.
• Maintain coding worksheets and assignment records accurately.
