SkillzenLoop is hiring Medical Coding Interns for freshers and entry-level candidates from life science, pharmacy, nursing and allied health backgrounds who want to learn how medical records become accurate codes. This internship covers diagnosis and procedure coding, chart review and claim accuracy, using practice charts and structured training assignments.

This role suits candidates who want to build a career in medical coding, medical billing, healthcare documentation or revenue cycle management.

Role Overview

As a Medical Coding Intern, you will work on structured coding assignments under the guidance of experienced team members. You will learn how clinical documents are read, how codes are selected using official guidelines, and how coding quality is checked through audits and feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Read discharge summaries, operative notes and physician records
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines
• Review charts for missing details and documentation gaps
• Check coded records for accuracy before they are used for claims
• Follow coding rules, payer guidelines and compliance standards
• Maintain a daily coding log and work towards accuracy and turnaround targets
• Take part in quality audits and learn from feedback on every coded chart
• Keep all patient information strictly confidential

Who Can Apply

• Freshers, entry-level candidates, or students pursuing or completing life sciences, B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Pharm.D, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, nursing, microbiology, biotechnology or other allied health degrees
• Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a medical coding course
• Candidates interested in healthcare documentation and billing
• Candidates available to work full-time for the internship period

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy
• Good reading comprehension in English

• Basic comfort with Excel or Google Sheets
• A laptop and a stable internet connection for remote work
