Mechanical Designer - Mining & Mineral Processing (AU Standards)

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer - Mining & Mineral Processing (AU Standards) to support Australian-based projects specializing in the mining and mineral processing industry. In this role, you will work under the direction of Australia-based Engineers to design innovative plant layout solutions, equipment, piping, and structures. This is a great opportunity for a skilled professional with strong 3D modeling expertise and familiarity with AS/NZS standards looking to advance their career remotely.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM AWST

Responsibilities

• 3D Modelling of plant layout, equipment, piping and structures for mining and mineral processing projects, including such as: Comminution - crushers, screens, feeders; Materials handling - conveyors, chutes, bins; and Mineral processing – mills, tanks, pumps, piping, cyclones
• Drafting of detailed drawings for mining and mineral processing projects, using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Advanced Steel: General Arrangements and Mechanical Arrangements & Details
• Prepare models in Navisworks for engineering reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of design experience, with exposure to Australian standards (AS/NZS).
• Experience with mining and mineral processing design projects.
• Proficiency in 3D Modelling
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD 3D).
• Ability to work autonomously under Australian engineer direction with minimal supervision.
