Manager - Productivity Excellence
Job Description
The role is responsible for driving Productivity Excellence by improving workforce efficiency, optimizing manpower and costs, and enhancing operational performance across manufacturing and support functions. It involves manpower planning, productivity measurement, analytics, industrial engineering studies, and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and data analytics. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve productivity targets, support workforce budgeting, and drive sustainable operational excellence through data-driven decision-making.
- PPL Pharma Inc. is seeking a Manager - Productivity Excellence (PE) to drive and sustain operational and manpower efficiency improvements across our manufacturing and business processes. This role will lead initiatives to optimize performance, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity within the organization.
- Job Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, analysis, and implementation of productivity improvement opportunities across various departments, including production, manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, supply chain, and administrative functions etc.
- Ensure meeting the Productivity Excellence Long Range Plans.
- Help the site achieve their productivity and related financial saving targets.
- Assist in site manpower forecasting for cost and headcount requirements based on future products and capacity plans for the next 3-5 years, and track the progress by monthly reviews
- Should be able to conduct the industrial engineering studies to identify the redundancies and Non-value-added activities at processes and activities.
- Develop and implement strategies, methodologies, and tools for process optimization, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct process mapping, time and motion study, DILO, value stream analysis, and root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute improvement projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, cost savings, and operational efficiency, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in operational excellence and lean methodologies.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for productivity improvement initiatives.
- Software/App knowledge: MS power BI, SQL, Tableau, Minitab, Sigma XL, Excel Macros, MS Office
- IE tools: MOST, Time study, Method study, Work Measurement, Multiple activity chart, Capacity planning, Line balancing, Production planning. Lean Management tools i.e. : VSM, OEE, SMED, Daily Management System, Kaizen
- Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of progressive experience in productivity excellence, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or process engineering roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or a highly regulated industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing productivity improvement initiatives with demonstrable results.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
