- Design, develop, test, and implement automation solutions using REXX, JCL, COBOL, OPS/MVS, and Ansible.
- Automate recurring data refresh processes and environment maintenance activities.
- Develop automated monitoring, alerting, and recovery solutions for batch workloads.
- Create automation workflows to reduce manual operational effort and improve service reliability.
- Support and enhance workload scheduling and automation functions within ESP.
- Develop scripts and tools to improve batch job management, reporting, and operational visibility.
- Analyze existing support procedures and recommend automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Mainframe Automation and Performance team
- Support CICS and DB2 application processes through automation and process optimization.
- Automate KPI collection, reporting, dashboard generation, and operational metrics.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implement automated preventive solutions for recurring incidents.
- Develop and maintain automation-related documentation, standards, procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in release planning and implementation activities to ensure automation solutions align with business requirements.
- Promote automation best practices and continuous improvement across the support organization.
- Evaluate emerging automation technologies and recommend improvements to current processes and tooling.
- Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible for z/OS.
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, Assembler, and EasyTrieve.
- Experience automating data refresh and environment management processes.
- Experience in creating automated operational reporting and KPI dashboards.
- Knowledge of ChangeMan and release management processes.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe environments.
