Why this role exists
Medinex Workforce supplies skilled people to healthcare organisations, including diagnostic labs, and a lab is only as trustworthy as its records. From the moment a sample arrives to the moment a report is released, every step has to be documented correctly. As a Laboratory Documentation Intern, you will build the knowledge and record-keeping skills that every good laboratory depends on. This is a remote, learning-based role. It does not involve collecting, handling or testing samples. It focuses on procedures, records, safety knowledge and laboratory data.
- Your day-to-day
- Study standard operating procedures for sample collection, handling, storage and transport
- Maintain sample logs, test records and daily lab documentation
- Learn biosafety, infection control and waste disposal protocols
- Support the preparation of lab reports and check them for completeness and accuracy
- Review quality control records and flag missing or inconsistent entries
- Learn the routine care and calibration schedules of common laboratory equipment
- Support lab data entry and reporting using Excel or lab software
- You are a good fit if
- You understand basic laboratory concepts, sample types and common tests
- You have a DMLT, BMLT or life science background
- You write careful, accurate records
- You work in a methodical way and notice small errors
- You respect patient privacy and professional ethics
- You have a laptop and a stable internet connection for full-time remote work
- Nice to have, not required
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems or Excel
- Exposure to a pathology or diagnostic lab through training or a previous internship
Who can apply
- Final-year students and recent graduates with DMLT, BMLT, B.Sc or M.Sc (Medical Laboratory Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences) or related allied health streams
- Freshers are welcome, and prior work experience is not required
- You must be available to work full-time for the internship period

Working schedule
