A Snapshot of Your Day
As an IT Test Automation Engineer, you will strengthen enterprise testing and quality engineering capabilities across global SAP and business application landscapes. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, operation, governance, and continuous improvement of automated testing solutions, with a key focus on Tricentis Tosca and related Tricentis products to enable scalable, reliable, and maintainable test automation across SAP and integrated non-SAP environments. As SSO for the Test Automation Service, you will ensure secure, compliant, and reliable operations while overseeing governance, risks, documentation, stakeholder collaboration, continuous improvement, and financial planning aligned with the service roadmap. You will also drive ongoing validation and quality assurance to ensure that deployed automation remains effective, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business requirements throughout its lifecycle, including monitoring automation quality, reviewing test assets, validating execution results, and driving continuous improvement of testing processes.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Review and validate automation scripts, test cases, test data, and execution strategies.
- Ensure compliance with established automation standards, naming conventions, and development guidelines, and define and continuously improve quality standards for automated testing.
- Conduct quality reviews of automation assets and automation frameworks, assess automation coverage, and identify opportunities to expand automation adoption.
- Establish controls to ensure consistency and reusability of test assets across projects and verify traceability between requirements, business processes, test cases, and execution results.
- Drive continuous improvement of testing methodologies and test automation practices.
- Ensure secure, compliant, reliable, and lifecycle-oriented operation of the Test Automation Service (SSO).
- Coordinate service governance and manage operational, technical, and compliance risks while maintaining service documentation and controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, platform teams, vendors, and support organizations, and define and drive the service roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and budget monitoring.
- Monitor the health, quality, and effectiveness of deployed automated tests, analyse execution trends, automation success rates, and defect leakage, and coordinate root-cause analysis of failed executions.
- Ensure automation assets remain current following SAP releases, transports, upgrades, and business process changes, while managing the automation maintenance backlog and technical debt.
- Support the introduction of self-healing and AI-assisted automation capabilities where appropriate, and monitor and report automation KPIs and quality metrics.
- Support and optimise the enterprise testing toolchain, including Tricentis Tosca, Tricentis qTest, SAP Cloud ALM, and SAP Solution Manager, and collaborate with teams using these solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled testing capabilities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and testing transformation programs.
- Increase automation coverage across critical business processes, improve reliability and maintainability of automated test suites, reduce regression testing effort and execution time, and improve traceability and quality of test assets.
- Strengthen governance and quality controls in automated testing, provide transparency through meaningful testing KPIs and reporting, and enable faster, safer, and higher-quality SAP releases.
- Ensure reliable, compliant service delivery, continuous improvement, and effective budget management.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in SAP testing environments and enterprise-scale test automation solutions; experience supporting large transformation, ERP, or SAP S/4HANA programs is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP ECC is advantageous.
- Strong experience with End-to-End Business Process Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience with Tricentis Tosca, Tricentis qTest, API Test Automation, Web Automation, Data-driven Testing, and Model-based Testing.
- Experience with Test Management, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, Jira, Panaya, Defect Lifecycle Management, and Test Reporting & Analytics.
- Knowledge of Quality Metrics & KPI Management, Risk-based Testing, Root Cause Analysis, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Tricentis Tosca Certification and ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification are preferred.
- Experience with AI-enabled testing approaches and SAP Cloud ALM integrations is preferred.
- Experience establishing Testing Centers of Excellence or Test Governance frameworks is preferred.
- Knowledge of enterprise-scale testing operating models is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a quality-driven mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while collaborating across global and cross-functional teams.
