About the role
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on IT Project Manager to plan and deliver technology projects, including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and application deployments. You will own delivery from scope definition through operational handover, working closely with engineering teams, customers, and business stakeholders.
This role requires direct involvement in execution: configuring project tools, defining measurable acceptance criteria, personally verifying deliverables, and using evidence to drive decisions. You will combine project management discipline with sufficient technical understanding to assess progress, challenge assumptions, and help resolve delivery blockers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own projects from initiation to closure, defining scope, milestones, resources, budgets, dependencies, and success measures.
- Translate requirements into actionable tasks and measurable acceptance criteria. Personally validate completed work through demonstrations, test results, and relevant technical evidence before accepting deliverables.
- Configure and administer Jira, Linear, or similar tools, including workflows, boards, automations, and reporting. Maintain accurate project data and customer-facing dashboards that provide clear, self-service visibility.
- Drive cloud initiatives on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including scoped proofs of concept, pilots, or migration phases. Define success criteria, track execution, validate outcomes, and present evidence for go/no-go decisions.
- Work directly with engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to clarify requirements, assess technical dependencies, and resolve blockers.
- Track schedules, costs, risks, issues, and scope changes. Assess delivery impact, agree mitigation actions, and escalate concerns with clear recommendations.
- Lead planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives as appropriate. Provide data-backed status updates that distinguish verified completion from work still in progress.
- Validate testing and deployment readiness, track outstanding defects, and ensure documentation, acceptance, and operational handover are complete.
- Incorporate security, compliance, and cloud cost requirements into project plans and acceptance checks.
- Required Qualifications and Skills
- 2–5 years of experience in IT project management, including direct involvement in delivering cloud-related or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated hands-on ownership of project execution, with examples of personally validating deliverables and resolving delivery issues.
- Administrator-level experience with Jira, Linear, or a comparable platform, including independently building workflows, boards, automations, and dashboards.
- Ability to define clear acceptance criteria and use technical evidence to independently assess whether a task or deliverable is complete.
- Practical exposure to at least one major cloud platform—AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform—including scoping and running a bounded initiative such as a proof of concept, pilot, or migration phase through to a decision.
- Working understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, identity and access management, security, and application deployment concepts.
- Experience applying Agile and Scrum practices, managing backlogs, and adapting delivery methods to project needs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical progress, risks, and decisions clearly to customers and internal teams.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with accountability for commitments and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, or SaaS implementations.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud cost management.
- Experience working with external vendors, distributed teams, and customer-facing delivery engagements.
- Relevant certifications such as CAPM, PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
