IT Operations Engineer – Realtime

What’s the role?

Operating at the intersection of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), the Realtime Operations team supports the critical platforms and services that connect industrial data with business, engineering, and analytics solutions.

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer to support, operate, and continuously improve our AVEVA PI System platform across the Asia-Pacific region. Working as part of a global operations team, you will help deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing services that enable critical operational and business processes.

Success in this role requires demonstrated capability in three key areas:

• Realtime Platform Operations
• Incident & Stakeholder Management
• Continuous Improvement & Technical Governance

This position combines hands-on operational support with troubleshooting, service improvement, automation, and technology modernization activities.

What you’ll be doing?

• Realtime Platform Operations
• Support the delivery of secure, reliable, and cost-effective AVEVA PI System services across the Asia-Pacific region.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and availability, proactively addressing operational issues.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting production services.
• Support platform upgrades, maintenance activities, and operational readiness initiatives.
• Contribute to service recovery during major incidents and disruptions.
• Maintain operational documentation and support procedures.
• Incident & Stakeholder Management
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and service requests in line with agreed service levels.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution activities across technical teams, vendors, and service providers.
• Provide clear and timely communications during incidents and service disruptions.
• Support root cause investigations and problem management activities.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, technical specialists, and external partners.
• Continuous Improvement & Technical Governance
• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate operational activities.
• Drive initiatives that improve service reliability, supportability, and operational efficiency.
• Support security, compliance, vulnerability remediation, and risk management activities.
• Enhance operational monitoring, tooling, and processes.
• Balance day-to-day operational support with long-term service improvement objectives.
• What we need from you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and administering AVEVA PI System within a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of AVEVA PI System architecture, infrastructure, and platform reliability principles.
• Experience in troubleshooting, monitoring, maintaining, and providing operational support for PI infrastructure and related services.
• Proven experience supporting business-critical applications, platforms, or real-time services in a production environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working within service-oriented support environments with a focus on system availability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes, preferably within an ITIL framework.
• Proven ability to coordinate incident resolution and collaborate effectively across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging business users, vendors, and technical specialists.
• Experience driving automation, simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service performance and efficiency.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, risk remediation, and technical debt reduction practices within enterprise technology environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and technical governance of infrastructure landscapes.
• Proficiency with ITIL methodologies, infrastructure monitoring tools, and operational support best practices.
