About the role

Mission

As a Data Analyst reporting to the Business Line, your primary goal is to bridge the gap between business needs and data-driven insights. You will empower business leaders and teams by providing accurate, actionable insights that support decision-making processes, and you will take ownership of the business-side data management. Your work will drive operational performance, support business objectives, and ensure the optimal use of data to enhance the company's competitive edge.

Responsibilities

  • Data Ownership & Business Analysis: Own the data from a business perspective, ensuring that business requirements are clearly understood and translated into data-driven solutions. Act as the subject matter expert for all data related to business operations.
  • Collaborate with Business Teams: Work closely with business units to understand their challenges, goals, and data needs. Help identify key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and other important business data to support decision-making across departments.
  • Data Extraction and Reporting: Extract, clean, and analyze data from various sources to deliver meaningful insights. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports tailored to business needs, focusing on providing timely and accurate information to business stakeholders.
  • Dashboard Creation & Visualization: Build and maintain intuitive, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Focus on presenting complex data in a simplified manner to facilitate decision-making.
  • Level 1 User Support: Serve as the first point of contact for business users who encounter data-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve data queries, provide training, and assist with any data visualization or reporting challenges. Act as the go-to person for resolving data access or interpretation problems.
  • Business-driven Insights: Interpret and synthesize complex data into actionable business insights. Provide clear, concise reports and presentations to business stakeholders, helping them understand trends, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate existing data processes and suggest improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Implement best practices in data management and reporting.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with both business and IT teams to ensure data alignment, security, and integration across systems. Work closely with the IT department to understand the technical constraints and ensure seamless access to required business data.
  • Data Quality & Accuracy: Monitor data quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in reporting. Flag and address any discrepancies or gaps in the data, taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Business Intelligence & Data Administration: While the primary focus is business-oriented, assist with basic business intelligence functions related to data administration and security, ensuring data is governed properly and adheres to company policies.

Requirements

EDUCATION

  • BSc/BA in Business, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • 0-3 years in a data analyst or business intelligence role, preferably within a business-facing environment or in a sales & commercial excellence department. Proven ability to work with business stakeholders to turn data into insights.
  • A strong understanding of business processes and data management is essential.

Technical Skills

  • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
  • Basic understanding of data management concepts and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, or similar).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Knowledge of Excel and/or other reporting tools for business analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and communicate data to non-technical business users.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, finance, and economics. Ability to contextualize data and provide insights that directly support business goals and strategy.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to support business users and resolve data-related queries promptly and effectively.
