Why this role exists

Medinex Workforce holds sensitive information: candidate resumes, contact details, client contracts and placement records. Protecting that data is part of earning the trust of everyone we work with. As an Information Security Intern, you will learn how defenders think: how to review systems, spot weak points early and explain them clearly so they get fixed before they cause harm. You will practise on approved lab environments and test setups, and you will learn the habits that responsible security professionals follow. All work is done strictly within authorised and legal limits.

Your day-to-day

  • Learn and apply vulnerability assessment methods on approved lab systems and test environments
  • Review network, server and application settings for common security gaps
  • Use tools such as Nmap, Wireshark and Burp Suite Community in authorised practice setups
  • Study common threats such as phishing, weak passwords, malware behaviour and misconfigurations
  • Help monitor logs and alerts, and note unusual activity for senior team members
  • Write clear risk reports with simple, practical recommendations for each issue
  • Support security awareness material and basic policy documentation
  • Share progress in daily check-ins and a weekly review

You are a good fit if

  • You understand networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, ports, firewalls)
  • You are comfortable with the Linux command line
  • You know common vulnerabilities such as those in the OWASP Top 10
  • You are disciplined, ethical and respect authorisation and confidentiality
  • You document what you find clearly and patiently
  • You have a laptop and a stable internet connection for full-time remote work

Nice to have, not required

  • Experience with practice platforms such as TryHackMe or Hack The Box
  • Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+ or similar
  • A security write-up or lab project you have published

Who can apply

  • Final-year students and recent graduates from B.Tech, B.E., BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT), MCA, diploma programs or related streams
  • Self-taught learners who can show their skills through practice platform profiles, write-ups, projects or certificates
  • Freshers are welcome, and prior work experience is not required
  • You must be available to work full-time for the internship period

What you get

  • Practical exposure to defensive security methods and tools
  • Regular guidance and feedback from experienced team members
  • Security write-ups and lab work you can show in future interviews
  • Internship completion certificate
  • The freedom to work from your own city anywhere in India

Working schedule

Full-time, Monday to Saturday or as assigned by your reporting manager, with daily check-ins and a weekly review.
