About LH2 AI Labs
Built by second-time founders who have built and sold companies before, LH2 AI Labs (lh2.ai) is building the post-training infrastructure for frontier AI models.
We bring private, high-quality institutional datasets and vetted domain experts to frontier AI pipelines across verticals like coding, computer use, agentic, medical, audio and more.
For AI to keep progressing, it needs high-quality training data drawn from real production use cases. The public web has already been crawled and trained on, and there's nothing left there. That's where we come in: we're building a world where frontier models can access data on tap, exactly the way they access compute today.
You've advised on the P&L. Now own one.
At MBB, you've diagnosed problems, built the recommendation, and handed it over. This role starts where that ends. You'll run a data vertical as its own business, with full P&L ownership, sitting right next to the founders.
We point you at a vertical (codebases, finance, company operations, medical, audio, egocentric, or whatever's next) and you build its supply from scratch. You figure out who in the world has the data and expertise we need, work out how to win them, and close them. You decide who to approach, in what order, on what terms, and where the moat gets built. What you learn in the field directly shapes what the founders prioritise next.
- What you'll own
- Demand: Work directly with frontier AI labs to understand their training data requirements and translate them into a sourcing strategy.
- Supply: Map the landscape and identify the institutions, companies and experts who hold the right data.
- Deals: Structure and negotiate licensing rights on bespoke, non-standard terms, and close agreements end to end.
- Delivery: Partner with our engineering team to build the data pipelines and ensure seamless delivery to customers.
- The number: Carry revenue targets for your vertical and own the outcome.
- This isn't a role where you make the deck. It's a role where you close the deal the deck would have recommended.
- Who we're looking for?
- 2+ years in client-facing strategy consulting at McKinsey, BCG or Bain. You've worked directly with CXOs, run workstreams, and held your own in rooms where the stakes were high.
- Education from IIT and/or IIM (or an equivalent top-tier institution).
- Genuinely sharp. You pick things up fast, structure ambiguity quickly, and move from insight to action without waiting for a perfect answer.
- Consultative by instinct. You read what a counterpart actually needs, solve the problem in front of you, and build a deal around it.
- Owner's mindset. You want to shape how your vertical goes to market, not execute a plan handed to you.
- Commercial edge. You're comfortable negotiating non-standard terms and can tell what's worth closing and what isn't.
- Wants the closure. You're hungry to move from advising to outcomes, and you thrive in fast, ambiguous, zero-hand-holding environments.
- We can teach you the domain, the data and the AI landscape. We can't teach you to think on your feet or to want the win. That part you bring.
- Bonus points
- Worked on commercial, go-to-market, pricing or growth-strategy engagements at MBB.
- Opened a new relationship, market or account from cold, whether in consulting business development, a startup, or a side venture.
- Any stint in a revenue-owning role (founder's office, BD, partnerships) before or after consulting.
- Exposure to AI, data, tech, healthcare, expert networks or marketplaces.
- Experience moving small, senior buying committees to a decision.
- Why this role?
- Real P&L ownership 2-3 years out of MBB, a jump that usually takes a decade elsewhere.
- Work directly with second-time founders who have built and exited before.
- A front-row seat to how frontier AI models are actually built, and the data that goes into them.
- Each vertical is a business you build. Strong vertical leads grow into running multiple verticals.
- Competitive base plus meaningful ESOPs and performance-linked incentives.
