About the role

Writing software is only half the job. Getting it safely to users, again and again, without breaking anything, is the other half. As a DevOps Engineer Intern at Crossing Infotech, you will help build the automated road that takes code from a developer's laptop to a live server. You will work with real servers, containers and pipelines, and learn how modern teams release software quickly and reliably.

This is a hands-on, full-time remote internship for people who enjoy tinkering with systems, automating repetitive work and figuring out why something stopped running.

What you will do

• Set up, configure and maintain Linux servers for development and testing
• Package applications into containers using Docker and manage them with Docker Compose
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Write shell scripts to automate deployments, backups and routine server tasks
• Monitor server health, logs and uptime, and report issues early
• Help manage cloud resources on platforms such as AWS, Azure or DigitalOcean
• Document setups and runbooks so anyone on the team can repeat them
• Share progress in daily check-ins and weekly review sessions

What we are looking for

• Basic Linux command line skills (files, permissions, processes, networking)
• Understanding of Git and how code moves from development to deployment
• Basic idea of how web servers, ports and DNS work
• Familiarity with Docker is a plus
• Exposure to a cloud platform, Nginx or Kubernetes is a plus, not a must
• A problem-solving attitude and patience when troubleshooting
• A stable laptop and reliable internet connection for full-time remote work
