Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant - Claims Reporting & Insights to lead reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives within the insurance claims domain. The role will involve working closely with senior Claims stakeholders, owning the insights roadmap, developing production-grade Power BI reports, translating complex business requirements into actionable reporting solutions, and driving data governance and reporting excellence.

Responsibilities

• Independently elicit and document requirements from senior Claims business stakeholders, translating complex business needs into precise and actionable reporting specifications.
• Define and own a target-state insights capability roadmap by identifying analytics gaps, prioritizing enhancements, and mapping the path from current state to an optimized reporting solution.
• Deliver hands-on Power BI development across the full lifecycle, including wireframing, rapid prototyping, DAX development, data modelling, production-grade report development, and enhancements.
• Act as the senior reporting lead and key partner for the Claims function, setting direction, managing expectations, and proactively driving delivery.
• Conduct structured business analysis sessions to challenge assumptions, ask probing questions, and distinguish core business needs from surface-level requests.
• Develop and maintain reporting standards while embedding data governance principles and ensuring the trustworthiness of Claims reporting outputs.
• Translate analytical outputs into clear insight narratives and business presentations to support informed, data-driven decision-making.
• Partner with technical analysts and BI developers to optimize workload distribution, leading requirements and stakeholder engagement while enabling technical teams to focus on delivery.
• Support medium-sized ad hoc reporting requests alongside the core roadmap while responding to changing business priorities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting processes, design standards, and data quality practices within the Claims reporting function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or Claims reporting, with demonstrated experience leading reporting improvements end-to-end.
• Deep insurance and Claims domain knowledge, including familiarity with the Claims lifecycle, loss development, reserving, and operational Claims metrics.
• Hands-on expertise in Power BI across the full delivery lifecycle, including DAX authoring, data modelling, wireframing, production-grade report development, and deployment.
• Proven ability to independently elicit requirements from senior business stakeholders, shape solutions, and translate complex business needs into high-quality reporting designs.
• Strong data modelling, analytics design, and data governance skills with a focus on accurate, trustworthy, and business-ready reporting outputs.
• Experience defining and owning BI roadmaps or insight capability strategies in a consulting or senior individual contributor capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, constructively challenge business requirements, and set direction in a high-visibility environment.
• Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with Claims leaders and communicate insights through effective data storytelling.
• Experience supporting or leading a mature Power BI environment with multiple reports in active production use across a business function.
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks, reporting governance standards, and best-practice BI development processes.
• Strong project ownership and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage a programme roadmap alongside ad hoc reporting requests with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience in a consulting, managed services, or analytics delivery environment is advantageous.
