Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at Weskill is a remote internship focused on supporting the design and improvement of cybersecurity training content and activities. On a day-to-day basis, the intern may assist with analyzing security concepts, reviewing sample applications and networks for basic vulnerabilities, and contributing to lab exercises or demonstrations related to information and network security. The intern will collaborate with mentors and trainers to research current cybersecurity trends, document best practices, and help ensure training materials align with industry standards. This internship provides practical exposure to foundational security domains while allowing the intern to work flexibly in a remote environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate foundational knowledge in Cybersecurity and Information Security concepts.
  • Interest in and basic understanding of Network Security principles and practices.
  • Exposure to or strong willingness to learn Application Security fundamentals.
  • General awareness of the broader Cyber domain, including common threats, vulnerabilities, and protective measures.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, basic networking, and security tools (such as firewalls or antivirus) is a plus.
