Position Overview
Are you passionate about the intersection of Cloud technologies and Artificial Intelligence? BNP Paribas is looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Production Artificial Intelligence & IT Innovation (PA3I) team in Bengaluru.
As part of the PA3I division, you will play a critical role in delivering a wide range of AI and Data applications within the BNP Paribas environment. As we scale our application support activity to meet the growing demand for AI/LLM products, you will serve as a key interface for users, ensuring high-quality service delivery, platform stability, and seamless integration between application and infrastructure tribes. Job Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
- Incident & Problem Management: Respond to client tickets with precise, tailored solutions; lead root cause analyses (RCA) and author post-mortem/playbook documentation to enhance team knowledge.
- Client Communication: Act as a bridge between technical teams and clients, communicating effectively regarding platform issues and resolutions.
- Automation & Tooling: Maintain and enhance internal tooling (primarily Python); propose and develop new packages to optimize system performance.
- CI/CD Excellence: Manage and optimize internal GitLab CI pipelines, including writing pipelines, conducting rigorous testing, and creating standardized templates for the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote an automation-first mindset within the squad to ensure sustainable, scalable operations.
Contributing Responsibilities
- Knowledge Transfer: Support the transfer of expertise to Paris APS teams and contribute to the definition of global procedures and processes.
- Reporting & KPIs: Assist in regular activity reporting and the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Team Growth: Participate in continuous improvement actions and help the ISPL team acquire new skills to expand our operational scope.
- Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Education: Graduate degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in DevOps or IT Operations.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and Cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes & Containers.
- Proficiency in RHEL Linux.
- Strong experience with DevOps tooling: GitLab, Artifactory, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
- Behavioral Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English (essential for documentation and global collaboration).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail, rigor, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience (Nice to Have)
- Scripting & IaC: Advanced proficiency in Python, Ansible, Shell Script, PowerShell, or Terraform.
- Diverse Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with Windows, AIX, WAS, CFT, and MQ.
- AI/Data Interest: Previous experience supporting Data platforms or Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
