About The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a dynamic UK-based Social Commerce business remotely from India. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records within a fast-growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while collaborating closely with the finance team and other stakeholders. The role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, a builder mentality, and a passion for process improvement to support the company's scaling efforts effectively.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting functions. A relevant finance or accounting degree is essential, along with proven expertise in managing financial transactions, invoicing, and reconciliations. Experience working with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho is required, with Xero experience being highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets, are necessary to perform data analysis and reporting tasks effectively. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are crucial for liaising with internal teams and external partners. Additionally, prior experience working with online marketplaces, social commerce platforms, or within scale-up environments will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing partner invoices accurately and ensuring timely payments to maintain good vendor relationships.
• Managing and reconciling financial transactions, including cash inflows, accounts payable, and receivable activities.
• Maintaining precise and up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Supporting daily bookkeeping activities and assisting in financial reporting processes.
• Investigating discrepancies in financial data, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring all transactions are accurately reconciled within designated deadlines to facilitate smooth financial operations.
• Collaborating with the finance team and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders regarding invoices, payments, and other financial matters to ensure transparency and clarity.
• Utilizing accounting software and reporting tools to maintain reliable financial information and generate reports as needed.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of bookkeeping and financial processes to support the company's growth trajectory.
