This internship is built around practical server-side work: creating APIs with Node.js, storing data in MongoDB, protecting routes with authentication and handling errors so a system fails gracefully.

This role suits candidates who want to build a career in backend development, API development, Node.js engineering or server-side programming.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer Intern, you will work on structured API assignments under the guidance of experienced developers. You will learn how professional teams design endpoints, model data, secure access and test services before they reach real users.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain REST APIs using Node.js and Express
• Design collections and write queries in MongoDB, and work with SQL databases where needed
• Add user login, token-based authentication and role-based access control
• Validate incoming data and handle errors with clear responses
• Test endpoints using Postman and write unit tests for your code
• Debug server-side issues and improve the reliability of existing services
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and take part in code reviews
• Maintain short API documentation so other developers can use your endpoints

• Freshers, entry-level candidates, or students pursuing or completing B.Tech, B.E., BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT), MCA, diploma programs or related degrees
• Self-taught developers who can show their skills through a GitHub profile or personal API project
• Candidates interested in backend and server-side development

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript
• Understanding of how HTTP, REST APIs and JSON work
• Basic knowledge of a database such as MongoDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Careful, logical coding habits and patience when debugging
• Clear written English for documentation
• A laptop and a stable internet connection for remote work
• Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)
• Familiarity with JWT, Docker or cloud deployment
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• A GitHub profile or an API project you built
