The Role

We're looking for a backend engineer with solid Go experience to build and scale the systems behind Nubra's trading platform. You'll work on the services that place orders, stream live market data to thousands of users, trigger alerts and automated orders, and power our public APIs. Market hours are unforgiving, so we care a lot about performance, correctness, and uptime. This is a fully onsite role at our office in GIFT City, Gandhinagar.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput backend services in Go
• Work on core trading systems: order placement and management, positions and holdings, and risk/margin checks
• Build real-time market data and streaming services (WebSockets) that push live prices, option chains, and PnL to web and mobile clients
• Develop and scale event-driven features like price/indicator alerts, Flexi Orders, and conditional order triggers
• Build and maintain Nubra's trading APIs for developers and algo traders
• Integrate with exchange, depository, and third-party systems (NSE, BSE, MCX, payment and KYC providers)
• Profile and optimize services to handle market-open traffic spikes reliably
• Participate in on-call during market hours, and help debug and resolve production issues quickly
• Write clean, tested code and take part in code reviews and design discussions with product, frontend, and mobile teams

Requirements

• 3–4 years of professional backend development experience, with at least 2 years building production systems in Go
• Strong grasp of Go concurrency: goroutines, channels, sync primitives, and context
• Experience with profiling and performance tuning (pprof, trace, benchmarks)
• Experience building real-time or high-concurrency systems (WebSockets, streaming, pub/sub)
• Hands-on with message brokers such as Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ
• Good knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and caching (Redis), including schema design and query optimization
• Experience designing REST and/or gRPC APIs
• Solid understanding of distributed systems basics: idempotency, consistency, retries, and failure handling
• Comfortable working on Linux, with exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and a cloud platform (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, structured logging, tracing)

Nice to Have

• Experience at a stockbroker, trading platform, fintech, or exchange-facing product
• Understanding of Indian market concepts: order types, F&O, margins, RMS, settlement
• Familiarity with exchange connectivity, FIX protocol, or market data feeds
• Experience building public developer APIs or SDKs
• Exposure to low-latency optimization or Linux network tuning

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking
