The Role

We're hiring an Automation Tester to own the quality of the AskTalos platform. It's a live product with real businesses running their sales and customer communication on it every day. You'll build and maintain automation frameworks, test complex multi-channel workflows (AI calls, WhatsApp messages, CRM updates, email sequences), and make sure every release is stable before it reaches customers.

This role suits someone who enjoys breaking things before customers can, who thinks in edge cases, and who wants hands-on exposure to AI voice agents and automation products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks for our React-based web application, using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
• Write and run API automation tests for our Django/REST backend with Postman, Rest Assured, or PyTest
• Test end-to-end business workflows across channels, e.g. AI call → auto WhatsApp message → CRM record update → follow-up trigger
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data for new features, integrations, and bug fixes
• Own regression, smoke, and sanity suites, and run them before every release
• Validate third-party integrations: WhatsApp Business API, telephony/voice providers, email services, webhooks, and external CRMs
• Do database testing with SQL to verify data integrity across CRM modules
• Plug automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / Jenkins) so tests run on every build
• Log, track, and retest defects in JIRA (or a similar tool), with clear reproduction steps, logs, and screenshots
• Work closely with developers and product in Agile sprints, joining sprint planning, reviews, and release sign-offs
• Contribute to basic performance and load testing of key pages and APIs (JMeter / k6 is a plus)
• Do exploratory testing on new AI features where outputs aren't always deterministic

Must-Have Skills

• 2 –4 years of hands-on QA experience, with at least 2 years in automation testing
• Strong experience with at least one UI automation tool: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress
• Good programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with test frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, or Mocha, and design patterns like Page Object Model
• Solid API testing experience (REST, JSON, status codes, auth tokens) using Postman and/or code-based tools
• Working knowledge of SQL for backend data validation
• Familiarity with Git and running tests in CI/CD pipelines
• Clear understanding of STLC, SDLC, defect life cycle, and Agile/Scrum
• Strong analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail
• Good written and verbal communication, since you'll report bugs clearly and work remotely with the team

Good to Have

• Experience testing SaaS / CRM / multi-tenant web applications
• Exposure to WhatsApp Business API, IVR/telephony, or voice-calling systems
• Experience testing AI/LLM-based features or chatbots
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Lighthouse)
• Experience with mobile/responsive testing and cross-browser testing (BrowserStack / LambdaTest)
• Basic knowledge of Django or React application architecture
• ISTQB certification
