About the Data & AI Product Team

The Data & AI Product team develops and manages the data and AI/ML products that power intelligent decisions, personalisation, and actionable insights across Tesco. We partner closely with Customer (Insights, Marketing, Group functions), Finance, Commercial and Technology teams to enable scalable, high quality data capabilities across the business.

In this role, you'll contribute to building and improving a suite of customer data products - including insights datasets, segmentation capabilities and audience filters - used across the organisation to better understand and engage our customers.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Responsibilities may evolve as business needs change, but your role will include:

  • Product Delivery & Execution
  • Support the Product Manager in delivering improvements across Customer & Personalisation products, including customer segments, filters, profile data and insight capabilities.
  • Help translate business requirements and customer needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritised backlog items.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement and delivery activities alongside engineering and analytics teams.
  • Track delivery progress and help identify risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Product Discovery & User Understanding
  • Develop an understanding of how stakeholders use Customer Intelligence and Personalisation products to make decisions and deliver personalised customer experiences.
  • Participate in user research, stakeholder interviews and discovery activities.
  • Help identify pain points and opportunities to improve data usability, accessibility and adoption.
  • Support the validation of new ideas through research, analysis and experimentation.
  • Data Products & Governance
  • Support the ongoing management of behavioural customer segments, audience filters and related customer datasets.
  • Help ensure products meet appropriate standards for data quality, governance and usability.
  • Work with engineering and analytics teams to understand data flows, dependencies and product performance.
  • Assist with monitoring product adoption and identifying opportunities to increase customer and colleague value.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build relationships with colleagues across Customer, Marketing, Analytics, Data Science and Technology teams.
  • Support communication of product updates, priorities and delivery plans to stakeholders.
  • Gather and document requirements while balancing business needs with technical considerations.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and planning activities.
  • Support testing, experimentation and MVP delivery for new capabilities.
  • Develop product management expertise through partnership with Product Managers and senior product leaders.

  • Ability to interpret data and use evidence to support decision-making.

  • Understanding of retail, loyalty, CRM or customer marketing domains.
