Assistant Manager- Finance

Key Responsibilities

Business Case & Financial Evaluation

• Prepare financial business cases for new business opportunities and ICY projects.
• Develop comprehensive business case analyses for TGM approval, including profitability, investment requirements, and risk assessment.
• Review actual business performance against TGM-approved business cases and identify variances.
• Provide recommendations to improve profitability and business performance.

Costing & Product Profitability Analysis

• Review and validate Bills of Material (BOM), activity-based costs, and manufacturing cost assumptions.
• Perform cost roll-up activities in SAP and ensure costing accuracy within the system.
• Support product costing for new products, engineering changes, and customer quotations.
• Conduct product-wise and customer-wise margin analysis to support commercial decisions.
• Monitor profitability trends and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Pricing & Commercial Analysis

• Review transfer pricing (TP) structures and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Evaluate purchase price variances (PPV) and analyze the impact on product profitability.
• Assess material cost fluctuations and support pricing decisions accordingly.
• Analyze manufacturing wastage, scrap costs, and yield performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Purchasing and Operations teams to drive cost reduction initiatives.

Financial Reporting & Controls

• Prepare periodic profitability, costing, and variance analysis reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities related to product costs.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy in costing and financial systems.
• Support internal and external audit requirements related to costing and inventory valuation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance teams on commercial evaluations.
• Provide financial insights for business decisions, customer negotiations, and operational improvements.
• Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic projects.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required
• CA- Inter, MBA or CFA preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience in Finance in a Manufacturing environment.
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior executives, peers, junior members and external partners
• Adept at identifying priorities, taking initiative and ownership
• Highly organized, hands-on and detail oriented
• Ability to recognize improvement opportunities and execute
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
