Analyst – Center for Energy & Industrials – Research & Insights (IP&C)

The candidate will contribute to the center’s research and thought leadership initiatives in the IP&C sector, with a particular focus on topics such as digital transformation, workforce, supply chain resilience, sustainability, industrial technology, aerospace & defense modernization, capital projects, data center construction, and other evolving industry issues. These include white papers, in-depth research reports, client presentations, account-specific collaterals, case studies, articles, and industry outlooks. These deliverables integrate information from a range of primary and secondary sources such as Deloitte subject matter experts, primary surveys, third-party research, analyst reports, presentations, industry commentary, and news articles.

Work you'll do

As an Analyst – Center for Energy & Industrials – Research & Insights (IP&C) on the ER&I research center team, you will be responsible for supporting projects that align with the research agenda in collaboration with the US- and India-based ER&I team:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research, analyze data, and develop insights for Industrial Products & Construction (IP&C) sector research projects.
  • Create data analysis plans; perform deep dives and cross-tabs; validate hypotheses; and synthesize findings into client-ready briefing decks.
  • Partner with stakeholders and research leads to identify storylines and insights and visualize survey results using data tables and charts for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, or Power BI outputs.
  • Present results and summarize insights and recommendations in briefing decks for internal and external meetings.
  • Support research proposals and projects led by IP&C project leads across key project phases.
  • Conduct whitespace research with IP&C project leads and industry subject matter experts and help refine and manage client expectations and priorities.

Deloitte’s ER&I research center is one of the industry research groups within the Research & Insights (R&I) organization.

The Center's goals are to

  • Assess opportunities and challenges facing companies in the Industrial Products & Construction (IP&C) sector, including aerospace, & defense, industrial products manufacturing, and engineering & construction.
  • Provide practical insights - whether they are strategic, technical, operational.
  • Bring together a range of stakeholders to address issues impacting the performance, resilience, and evolution of the IP&C sector.
  • Draw on leading practices from industry professionals across disciplines such as strategy, operations, supply chain, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, digital transformation, risk, finance, regulation, and human capital to identify innovative approaches to critical challenges

Our work includes:
  • Studying the right issues, asking the right business questions, and generating insights from data.
  • Using the right research methods, including advanced data science/survey research capabilities, to strengthen the credibility of our research and the insights that we present.
  • Leveraging editorial and visualization capabilities to improve the stickiness of the thoughtware we publish.
  • Location: Hyderabad
  • Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM).
  • 0–3 years of work experience.
  • Coursework, internship, or work experience applying qualitative and quantitative research methods and interpreting data.
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel to create analyses, charts, and presentation materials.
  • Experience analyzing data, validating findings, and synthesizing insights for research deliverables.
  • Experience preparing written research deliverables and presenting findings in briefing decks.
  • Evidence of completing assigned research, analysis, or presentation deliverables by established deadlines while working with a project team.

Preferred

  • Coursework, internship, or work experience in industrial manufacturing, aerospace and defense, or engineering and construction.
  • Experience using one or more of London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Workspace, Gartner, Mergermarket, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Hoovers, or Factiva.
  • Experience using Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, MarketSight, or AlphaSense to visualize or research data.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence-assisted research or productivity tools and fact-checking outputs against source materials.
