This role focuses on designing and drafting complex components and assemblies using NX, with a strong emphasis on surfacing, plastics, and sheet metal part design. The analysis engineer contributes to the development of exterior components, BIW/CIW structures, and mounting structures, ensuring high-quality, manufacturable designs. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication to deliver robust engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using NX design and drafting tools for complex components and assemblies.
- Develop and refine high-quality surface models to meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements.
- Design plastic components and assemblies, ensuring feasibility, durability, and compliance with design standards.
- Design sheet metal parts and structures, focusing on manufacturability, strength, and weight optimization.
- Support the design and development of exterior components, including styling, fit, and finish considerations.
- Contribute to the design of BIW (Body in White) and CIW structures, ensuring structural integrity and alignment with project specifications.
- Develop mounting structures and interfaces that support proper assembly, alignment, and performance.
- Review and update drawings and models to reflect design changes and feedback from stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to resolve design issues and improve product performance.
- Communicate design intent clearly and effectively through documentation, presentations, and discussions.
- Ensure adherence to internal design standards, best practices, and project timelines.
- Essential Skills
- Strong proficiency in NX (UG NX) design and drafting for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
- Proven ability to create and modify complex surface models using NX.
- Hands-on experience in plastics part design, including detailed component and assembly development.
- Hands-on experience in sheet metal part design, including structural and enclosure components.
- Knowledge and experience in designing exterior modules, such as body exterior components.
- Knowledge and experience in BIW (Body in White) and CIW structures design.
- Experience in designing mounting structures and interfaces for assemblies.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality design documentation.
