About The Company

Our client is building PT, a UK-based public affairs intelligence platform that gives political parties, think tanks, regulators, and large corporates (energy, tobacco, finance) real-time visibility into public opinion, policy shifts, and regulatory changes. Unlike tools that rely on synthetic or model-trained data, Polstream captures real-time human data at scale through a partnership with Peel Spectrum, one of the world''s largest polling aggregators.

The platform has just launched in Australia and is actively onboarding its first customers, with New Zealand, the UK, and the US as the next target markets.

The Role

The current Chief Architect has been fully dedicated to PT for 9 months and needs to step back. You will come in as a senior developer/architect who can take significant ownership of the product, technically but, more importantly, conceptually. The Chief Architect will mentor and guide you through the transition, gradually reducing involvement as you grow into the role. This is not a role for someone who executes tickets. The core challenge here is not the technology it is the domain. You need to genuinely understand politics, public opinion, regulation, and market research to architect the AI pipelines and data models that power the product. The technology can be learned the domain understanding cannot be skipped.

What You Will Work On

• Own and evolve the architecture of the platform, including AI pipelines, data ingestion, real-time processing, and query systems
• Work with the data science co-founder to translate complex methodological requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Build and maintain AI-powered features including prompt engineering, LLM integration, and real-time data processing
• Contribute to the frontend (React) and backend (.NET/C#) as needed, though architecture and AI are the primary focus
• Support the platform''s expansion into Australia, New Zealand, UK, and US markets
• Help grow and lead the India engineering team as the project scales

Tech Stack

• Frontend: React
• Backend: .NET / C# (primary), Python (also in use)
• AI: LLM integration, prompt engineering, real-time data processing pipelines
• Data: Real-time human data collection, survey data, polling aggregation
• Note: Domain understanding and AI architecture matter more than exact stack match. Strong engineers from adjacent stacks are welcome.

What We Are Looking For

• 3 to 6 years of experience. The client is looking for younger, hungry talent who will grow with the product, not seasoned veterans who are set in their ways.
• Genuine curiosity and understanding of politics, public opinion, social science, policy, or regulation. This is the primary requirement and the hardest to find.
• Deep understanding of AI architectures, including how to design and architect AI pipelines for real-time, data-dense products
• Strong written and verbal English. Non-negotiable given client-facing interaction with Australia, UK, and US stakeholders.
• Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, focused on outcomes, and willing to wear multiple hats
• Ability to work independently under mentorship and take ownership of the product

What We Are NOT Looking For

• Developers with 10 or more years of experience who are set in their ways
• Candidates who need a fully defined spec to execute. This role requires thinking, not just building.
• Anyone without awareness of politics, regulation, or public affairs. The domain is essential.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in public affairs, market research, political tech, or policy-adjacent products
• Experience with polling data, survey methodology, or real-time data aggregation
• Exposure to global markets such as Australia, UK, or US
